Brown Sugar Pecans are a tasty treat. They are easy to make and great to have in the pantry for a quick snack. I love to put a few into a salad, they provide that crunch and sweetness that adds so much flavor to any salad. Another idea is to split a banana in half, grill it for a minute then add the pecans and drizzle honey over the top. They will keep fresh for a couple weeks provided you place them in a tightly sealed container. Sometimes they don’t last that long though.
Start with 1/2 pound of raw pecans.
Along with the pecans, add 1/4 cup unsalted butter, 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Place the butter, brown sugar and vanilla into a saucepan and stir just a couple minutes over medium low heat. The butter and sugar will melt and become a syrup.
Pour the syrup into the pecans and give it a stir to coat every piece.
Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray with Pam cooking spray. Spread a single layer of pecans onto sheet and place into a 325 degree oven.
They look so yummy already, but they need to go into the oven for 20 minutes.
After 10 minutes take them out and give them a stir. Back to the oven for 10 more minutes.
Give the pecans jut a couple minutes to cool. They should slide easily off the aluminum lined cookie sheet.

These babies are great! I put a similar recipe out on my food blog but hadn’t taken any pictures. I used one of your photos from this entry with credit given to your blog. I hope that’s okay, let me know if it’s not.
